The Light Horse, Australia Vs The Middle East

Look at this image:

It is a sculpture dedicated to the troops who served in the Australian Lighthorse Brigade and their horses. More specific to the Lighthorse Brigade is the wire on each red pole which represents the emu plumage that was worn on the Light Horsemens' slouch hats.

Well done to the RTA and the NSW Government for such a fine memorial to the Light Horse on the M7. I wonder how much It cost to comission the 'artist.' I hope that some people actually figure out what those broken electrical poles actually mean. As for being inspired by the memorial? No, one has to travle to Israel for that.

Master of Mistakes

New College, UNSW. My friend recently received this message from the Master of The College.

"In this appeal I wish to draw to your attention to a need we have to build..."

The College, according to its website says it aims for

"...the provision of undergraduate and postgraduate accommodation, pastoral care and academic support"
AND
"...the development of scholarship and academic excellence."

This is the College that has been granted the tender to run a new 'village' for postgraduate students, who's master apparently has a PhD, and who will soon be sitting on a few 'boards' at the University.

Perhaps, Trev, you could use the scholarship money TO get yourself some basic grammar lessons. I'm sure you will have plenty of people lining up TO donate TO the development of 'scholarship and academic excellence' at New College after reading the words from your eloquent pen! TO
